Boring is the goal

About Wexly
We think bookkeeping is a job for software, and a bad hobby for founders. Wexly exists so the ledger keeps itself while you do the work your customers actually pay for.
01 · The problem
A one-person business has the same bookkeeping as a big one, and none of the staff.
Every transaction still needs a home. Every invoice still needs to meet its payment. Every quarter still ends with a tax estimate. For a freelancer or a founder with a handful of employees, all of that lands on the same person who also does the sales, the delivery and the dishes.
The usual fixes are a spreadsheet that grows a new tab every month, or a pile of receipts promised to “future me”. Future you is busy. Wexly was built for the gap between those two: a tool that connects to your banks, cards and invoicing apps and does the filing while you’re not looking.
It learns your chart of accounts instead of forcing a generic one on you, and it asks a human only when a human is genuinely needed.
02 · What we hold to
If you’re thinking about Wexly, something went wrong. The best day with it is the one where nothing needs your attention.
The categorizer adapts to the accounts you already use. We don’t ask you to rename your business to fit our dropdown.
Every automatic decision keeps an audit trail and an undo. You can always see what Wexly did, why, and how to reverse it.
When a charge is truly ambiguous, you get one short question instead of a form. Then Wexly remembers the answer.
Wexly reads your bank feeds to do the bookkeeping. It organizes your money; it doesn’t move it.
Three plans, billed yearly, with the number on the page. What you see is what you pay.
03 · How it’s made
Wexly pairs bank lines with invoices, bills and receipts before it ever tries a category, so the obvious work is done by rules, not hunches.
Bank and card links are for pulling transactions. Nothing in Wexly can send a payment.
Edits, rules and matches are logged with who, when and what, which is exactly what your accountant will ask for.
Write to hello@wexlystudios.com and a human who has used the reconciler answers.
04 · Where it’s going
Every rule will show the past charges it touched and the ones it deliberately skipped, so you can trust it faster.
In progressStack a hire, a lost client and a big purchase in one view, then compare each against your tax payment dates.
In progressA tidier export and a clearer review queue in the collaboration portal, so your accountant starts with answers.
PlannedAdditional invoicing and payment tools, added as customers ask for them, in the order they ask.

“Month-end used to be a whole weekend. Now it’s a short list and a button. I keep waiting for the catch.”
“The forecast let us see a slow January early and move a purchase instead of panicking.”
