Features

Software that does your books should finish them, not hand you homework.

Six capabilities, one opinion: every chore a bank line can cause should be settled before you notice it. Here is what Wexly files, matches, forecasts and guards while you get on with the work.

01 · Reconciliation

Month-end shrinks to a short list and one button

Every bank and card line is matched against your invoices, bills and receipts the moment it lands. What can’t be matched confidently waits in a short queue, so closing the month is a skim, not a siege.

  • Matches suggested with the reasoning shown, accepted in bulk
  • Split one deposit across several invoices
  • Every automatic match has an Undo
In your weekGlance at the queue Thursday, press Close on Friday, spend Sunday elsewhere.

02 · Categorization

Your chart of accounts, not eleven generic buckets

Wexly files each transaction into the accounts you actually use. Correct a supplier a few times and it writes the rule itself, then offers to tidy the past charges to match. Keyboard-first, so a ⌘K and a few letters does it.

  • Import your own chart of accounts, numbers and all
  • Rules by merchant, amount range or account
  • Retroactive: past charges move with one confirmation
In your weekSpend two minutes teaching it on Monday. By the second month it rarely asks.

03 · Receipt matching

Photograph it at the till. Wexly finds the charge.

The mobile app reads merchant, date and total from the receipt, then clips it to the card transaction it belongs to. Crumpled, curled or half-faded: it still counts. Auditors get a receipt on every line, and you get your glovebox back.

  • Reads four fields and shows you what it read
  • Forward-by-email receipts attach themselves too
  • Unmatched receipts wait and re-try as new charges post
In your weekSnap at the counter, forget it, find it filed by the time the card statement posts.

04 · Tax-ready reports

Set aside the right amount before the deadline gets personal

Profit and loss, category roll-ups and quarterly estimates build themselves from reconciled data. Wexly suggests deductions with the evidence attached, you accept or wave them off, and the export lands in a format your accountant won’t sigh at.

  • Quarterly estimate with a running “set aside” meter
  • Deductions suggested, never silently applied
  • One-click export for filing or for your accountant
In your weekCheck the estimate when you close the month; move money when the meter says to.

05 · Cash flow forecast

See January’s dip in November, while it’s still cheap to dodge

Forecasts are drawn from your real open invoices and recurring bills, then extended 90 days. Flip a scenario (a hire, a lost client, a big purchase) and the line redraws instantly. Nothing is committed until you decide it is.

  • Built from invoices and bills, not a guessed growth rate
  • Scenarios side by side with the base case
  • Lowest point flagged, with what causes it
In your weekCheck it before a purchase or a hire. Thirty seconds, one toggle.

06 · Audit trail and approvals

A paper trail that writes itself, for when someone asks “who changed that?”

Every edit, rule change and approval is logged with who, what and when. On Ledger Plus you can require a second pair of eyes before a month closes, and invite your accountant into a portal of their own instead of emailing spreadsheets at midnight.

  • Immutable log of edits, with before and after values
  • Approval steps before a period locks
  • Accountant access that never shares your password
In your weekInvite your accountant once; they pull what they need and leave you alone.

Under the hood

The unglamorous parts, done carefully

Read-only by design

Bank connections can see transactions and balances. They cannot move money, and Wexly never stores your banking passwords. Disconnect an account and its feed stops that second.

Encrypted, end to end

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access to your workspace is protected by two-step sign-in.

Roles that make sense

Owner, bookkeeper, accountant, viewer. Each sees only what the job needs, and the audit trail records every change.

Feeds that keep up

If a bank connection drops, Wexly tells you which one and why, backfills the gap when it returns, and never double-counts a line.

Plays well with others

Connects to the accounts and tools already doing the work

Link banks and cards for the feeds, and your invoicing tools for the income side. The software subscriptions you pay for show up filed correctly, and your export lands where your accountant already looks.
